Hi guys ,  I have hit a wall with retrieving the pin in a 2010 A6 3.0T . I am trying to replace the ECU but I keep failing .
 ECU type is  Continental SIMOS 8.3 , 8.4 , 8.5

I have this software :

Tacho = fail

Vag EEprom = fail

me =stupid human ... epic fail

Could you hint to me what software would help me get the immo pin from the orginal ECU and the Used ECU .  Please and thank you

so here is the story , lol

The 3.0T engine is in a Audi 1995 B4 90 with a O2x 6sp tranny from a 2007 A4 .  The ECU and engine is from and automatic 2010 A6 and I need to replace the ECU with another ECU from a 2010 S4 that has a manual transmission . I am working on switch over the cabin wiring harness from the A6 to the B4 90 in order to have the A6 cluster , MMI ( maybe ) , ABS and other sub system working as well .

Oh this a fun project :0 . I have a complete donor A6 parts car so the parts are not a problem.

So my options are :

1. get the pin numbers from the master ecu and junk yard ecu so i can pair the cluster with the junkyard ecu.

2. turn off the immo on the junk yard ecu ( ecu from S4 with stick shift )

3. some how reprogram the A6 engine ecu from automatic to manual transmission

 what do you think guys Huh
please and thank you for any help you can give .

So you have an ECU from an A6 along with its cluster, which will start the car, why would you want to run an S4 ECU in there in the first place? Just because the S4 ECU is from a "stick"? good luck with that, An S4 ECU most likely won't communicate properly with anything A6, 2 totally separate platforms, 2 totally different CAN matrixes, one is UDS, the other is TP2.0, I'd say you're in way over your head. you might be better off getting someone to mod the A6 ECU for you so it works on a manual trans. That might actually not even be THAT bad a job to do, I'll look into it if you want.

The Simos 8.3, 8.4 used a different can bus protocol between the S4 and the A6 with the same engine ??  I didnt know that  and  thank you for the heads up.  Wink  That would have been a nightmare and a $hit show lol .

Yeah I am way over my head when it come to the newer Ecu architecture . :-)
