sense ive seen the several posts recently with basically the same issue i thought id make a post about my findings and a simple solution can first hand say ive never ever successfully used me7eeprom tool to read and write some ecus mk4 r32, mk4 24v, bel 2.7t and 3l 30v for a few examples. I found using a chip burner and a 95040 or a 95080 replacement chip works just fine. just use the right variant eeprom and youre good to go. if you have a ecu that wont go into bootmode after playing with the eeprom data or a ecu that wil flash in bootmode but will never boot up this little workaround will bring it back to life

yeah. the tool works plenty ok for 7.1.1 and even st10 7.1.1. many other members as well have tested this application.
(i have personally used this tool to read write 7.1.1 and st10 cpu 7.1.1 eeproms).
just because YOU can not make it work, does not mean the tool does not work.
here is a small hint:

me7_eeprom -p 1 --bootmode 95160 --CSpin P6.3 -r 95160.bin
me7_eeprom -p 1 --bootmode 95P08 --CSpin P4.7 -r 95P08.bin

Old Thread brought back! - K0mpresd where would someone get the CSpin selections like P6.3 and P4.7. Is it something as obvious as looking at the chip and figuring out a specific pin on it? or should i be looking at something else.
