Hi Guys,

I've been having a go at mapping my own car and I've had some success. What I am struggling with now is engine load. I can't seem to figure out why my actual engine load is so low? There doesn't seem to be anything limiting the load? I've also noticed my MAF values are also low at 150 g/s.

My boost requested vs actual is also way out. Can someone give me an idea what could be limiting rl_w?

The car is a Audi S3 1.8t AMK stock k04 turbo with intake and downpipe.

Thanks

Your load is low because you aren't even close to meeting requested.

No clue why you didn't bother posting a log. Those two graphs alone are pretty much useless.

Thanks for the reply. I can see I am not meeting requested but I cannot see why that is happening. Like I said in my post I can't see what is limiting it.

My log file was too big to post but I've reduced it to 2 pulls in 3rd gear. Please see attached log below.

Thanks.

Did you bother looking at wgdc?

What makes you think your setup can do 26psi? Have you looked at a k04 compressor map?

I know it stays at +-94%. I know it can't do 26 psi. I'm actually happy with the boost it is currently running. I do know I need to turn down the requested boost as its obviously too high.

What I'm struggling with is:

1 - What is limiting load / boost (from your response it seems its the physical limitation of the turbo). What I find weird is that intake temps are still relatively low - I understood if you push the turbo too hard its basically a heat pump which doesn't seem to be the case as I still have stock coolers and no meth.

2 - Load is low and so is is MAF. From other logs and reading on here I would expect more than 150 g/s airflow.

Thanks for trying to help us noobs.

What leads you to think your load is reading low for your actual boost?

If it was, it would show up as a discrepancy between actual boost and ps_w, which you did not log.

From the logs I see now engine load is following actual boost.

I'll log ps_w and see what I can find out.

What still puzzles me is why its so low. Is it really the physical limitation of the turbo? If so I will need to do some more mods to increase flow.

Thanks

I don't think your load is particularly low.

Great thanks Nyet!

I'll focus on refining things a bit more then instead of worrying about this too much.
