Hey,

I very like the idee of a portable ME7 logging with ME7Logger functionallity as well as KWP1281 protocoll on different hardware like raspbarryPI o.a.

I wouder if someone ever took a eye on Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 interface, witch allready has a stand-alone-logger functionallity for Subarus SSM, Mitsubishi- and OBD-protocoll.

These protocolls are in firmware of the interface, so a simple text-based logger config enables logging, without any PC when interface is plugged into OBD-connector.

It would be great to have ME7logging in the same way..
Does some investigate in this direction ?

Digging a bit deepter into it, I contaced Colby from Tractrix.
He mentions he has allready implementated RS53 Minis with ME7 ECU. Maybe this helps Smiley

As I found out, Mini R53 uses DS2 bus for diagnostic.

ME7Logger uses a special derivat of KWP2000, NefMoto Data Logger uses KWP2000 protocol, but is slower, then ME7Logger..

So Tactrix needs to support KWP2000 or KWP2000 "special" protocoll for logging ME7 of VAG-ME7. I am not sure, if DS2 based on KWP2000, but I doub not Sad

Is there a doku of ME7Logger protocol ?
How fast is NefMoto logger ?
Maybe a simple KWP2000 logger is enough and allready awailible on tractrix stand alone logger functionallity

Thanks for help und hints

There's a thread on this forum that describes exactly how me7logger communicates.   I believe it uses a trick to write logged addresses directly to the DynamicallyDefineLocalIdentifier table and then downloads the results from that.

DidnĀ“t find it yet, can you please shoot a link to it ?

 Smiley

Do you ever work with KWP2000 (or nefmoto-Datalogger) on ME7, how fast does it sample ?
