Hello,
 is there a separate map for the idle mixture in the me3.8x ECUs ?  I'm tunning my injectors (627cc/min,) using a plx wideband sensor (narrowband disconnected so it doesn't do adaptations ) and have managed to get most of the mixtures in the ranges I want (14.7-15.2 cruise, ~12.5 low boost level, 11.8-11.5 full load), accept the idle.  Changing KFLF in the idle range 800 - 1000 rpm / 0.500 - 1.000 load has little to no effect .

Thanks

P.S. I have scaled my injectors so 1.0001 in KFLF is ~14.7:1 afr (gasoline) or lambda 1.0 Smiley

I do not know the idle map in this ECU, I have always used KFLF with boring results.

Hi Dropout. Some info about Car/ECU/logs will be nice. From my little experience and research here is my advice. Disconnecting main O2 sensor probably will generate other type of ECU corrections/maps usage more than just disable injection compensation based in O2 sensor . Maybe you can disable O2 regulation "switching to basic adaptation" in block 099. About AFRs at idle KFLF is a factor map for lambda 1. I have notice that to scale injectors in this old ECUs you could need to touch base injection map (ms) paired with main injecion constant too.

Thanks for the replies.   About the car it's with a bit of mods, gt2860 turbo, 76mm maf housing, 627cc/min bosch injectors, front mount IC, 63mm resonated milltek with magnaflow cat . It's my daily driver for 4-5 years now. Everything is scaled - maf (MLHFM), injectors (FGAT0,TVUB), load has been scaled down so I can run 1.5 bar (FGAT0 scaled to compensate) in the mid rpm range without going over the 12.75ms limit. Boost tappers  down to 1.1 - 1.0 bar at redline as it reaches the maf limit. All other necessary maps are changed. When runing it the 02 connected the trims are in the 5-6% range, only problem is with the idle which is very lean, had the same issue when running with 380cc/min,440cc/min, and now 627cc/min injectors. I'm starting to think that maybe I have a vacuum leek or I'm not modifying some map.

eliotroyano, what is the base injection map ?

P.S. last dyno (same setup but t3/t4 turbo) car made 260hp/372nm at the wheels (peek boost 1.5 to ~5000rpm and then tappering down to 1.0bar. Boost is controlled by the stock ecu n75 .

What about KHFM for the new MAF? how is your load values at idle?

Did you check KFTLWS?

KHFM is scaled, currently at 30100, I haven't touched KFTLWS maps upto now, I'll give them a try.  Idle load is ~0.65-0.70 ms .

P.S. Here is a thread with nice info about me3.8.x -> https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/1-8t-m3-8-3-tuning.355810/

From my point of view 0.65-0.70ms of LOAD with a hot engine @ idle without any electrical consumer is too close of the overrun or heavy vacuum zone. Of course it also depends in your barometric pressure and altitude above sea level.

P.S. Here is a thread with nice info about me3.8.x -> https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/1-8t-m3-8-3-tuning.355810/

That is a really nice post. From that post I read this: Fuelling calculated by (KFTLWS x KFLFLAV) x KFLF = fuel injected ms.Also Nefmoto has very nice info too.

Overrun is not effecting the idle as it is also rpm dependent i.e. it disables overrun below some given rpm (don't know what the threshold is in this ECU, I'll check it monitoring the WB).

Yes Nefmoto also has great info  about me3.8.x,  but me3.8.x is not very popular here so it's not documented as well as ME7.х and up.

Did some testing yesterday, 1-st I increased KFTLWS with 30% in the low tps/rpm area but there was no significant change in the idle afr. After that I changed only KFLFAV (put KFTLWS to stock) and again there was no significant change in the AFR. Last I put KFLFAV back to stock and increased KFLF by a lot in the 0.5-1.0 load range and 800 - 1000 rpm, the mixture is now spot on 14.7:1 at idle, however the numbers don't make any sense,  in low load/off boost area 1.0001 is ~ 14.7 but for idle I had to increase them to 1.10xx for 14.7 : 1 , but car is happy I'm happy .

Dropout did you check TEMIN value? Also can you show your FGAT0 and KFTLWS values?

Greetings. I regulated my car with a lambda card (or rather a multiplier)

Strange, I'm sure I replied in this thread but can't find my post (maybe the net played up). eliotroyano, yes I modified TEMIN - 0.7505 (1.1997 ori), FGAT0 is 0.6954 (remember I scaled load KHFM - 30100 so this is scaled by the same %), KFTLWS is stock.

aleks19411 and ulek3pl , thanks for replying, this is also the table I use.  As I wrote above, everywhere else in the table 1.001 = ~14.5-14.7 afr (checked on plx wideband) except in the low load i.e. idle part of the map.

Here(attached) is my KFLF with low load/idle values which give an AFR ~ 14.7

PS. Here are two videos from last year on the dragstrip (on winter tires), now with better tires and an alignment the car runs consistent 13.6x with 2.3-2.4 60ft.
