Hi all,

When using VAGCOM to adapt a used ECU on an IMMO 2 car, does the VAGCOM adaption procedure write the vehicle cluster’s SKC to the “new” ECU’s EEPROM? Or does it write the “new” ECU’s SKC to the cluster?

Asking because I picked up a spare ECU which I plan to use for tuning (already read the flash and EEPROM in bootmode).   I would like to get the spare working on the car before I open up my original to pull the same files in bootmode.  At that point I can clone the spare.

Other option is to IMMO off the spare to test it out on the car.

Sorry for what may be a basic question.  I would like a better understanding of what VAGCOM's ECU adaptation procedure is actually doing to the memory of the ECU or cluster before trying it out.

Thanks
