So I had a bench setup made from BOTH ecu connectors and a obd harness acouple years ago that worked flawlessly. Now I cant find it anywhere so I pulled another set recently to make up another one.

The problem im having now is I cant remember which pin on the smaller ecu connector (#82-121) gets power as that was the solution to the same problem I had b4 when it worked? anybody know?

I read thru the sticky on bench flashing. Just cant remember what thread tip me off to that pin back then when it worked

Pin 121 on the small connector.

That’s what I was thinking too, it’s just non existent on the harness I pulled from an a6 that threw me off but I’ll try that and re pin it somehow if it works. Thanks

I have a note that powering pin 121 is required for 1.8T ME7.5 ECUs (worked for me on an AWP ECU).  I don’t think I ever tried to connect without powering 121.

I can read from my AFP ME7.1 ECUs with/without powering 121.  Current draw was the same for both cases.
