Hi everyone,

I got a base mape for my turbo conversion running smooth at the moment. Now I'm wondering how much boost can a K04-64 charger do at 6000rpm.

I've got the stock intake, big intercooler and a 200cpi downpipe ending up in the stock exhaust.

At the moment I got 1,15bar@6000rpm. Id like to have your opinion/experience - is this the max of this charger, or can I try to go further?

thx and best regards

What is turbo specified/actual pressure and N75? Logs? Did you ever check?

I did BHZ tuning some days ago and could not reach more than 1,25bar @ 6000 -> 230 g/s with stock intake and exhaust (pre-cat removed), it´s about 180%. 7000 still 1,00bar 235 g/s, rail pressure 120bar, lambda 0,80.

I haven't found a reliable source for the k04-64 yet though. There a few floating around here on nef but I don't know that I trust them.

Thx for your Info - Actual/Specified preassure are thight togther, and my airmass ist around 240g/s@6500.
I use the bigger S3 injectors on 110bar. You go for lambda 0,8 - all over the range or just at high load/rpm.

I stick to lambda 1.0 all over the range, goning down to about 0.9 at max load - hmm, am I completely wrong?

Do you mean LAMFA 0,9 or do you really drive 0,9?! Not good for power and for sure too hot. What about KFLBTS? Did you ever log it or do you assume it?

This should be for b7 2.0T .

Don`t use this Map. IIRC in the K04-064 is an other compressor (2283, 5306-123-2014). Search for the right compressor map.

Stock actuator on k04 will probably be around 1.3bar , run a 10 psi one and you can squeeze 1.6 out of them before they drop off effeciency

I had up to 270 g/s @ 6500 @ 1.3bar with CDL and good exhaust/intake. Problem was not more boost then. Problem was fuel, i got low pressure problems and injection time is really short in high rpm. So you have to improve this too.

Another problem is surging in low rpm. You cannot run more then 1.25bar @ 3000 and 1.30bar @ 3500. But you need to test because it depends from your hardware for sure. Maybe you can improve it with cam-timing.

You mean injection time is long on high rpm Wink

It depends on outside temp. Wink

I checked my logs: with stock K04. I reached 1,5bar @ 3000 rpm (temp:16°C)  Grin

Dear cherry,

I'd fuel probs sometimes as well, changed to the index "G" pump - same partnumber than original but last one is a "G". Than the problem has gone. But maybe my old pump has already been a little bit weak - so I can't guarantee.

I've read a lot about HD pumps, becuase I'D never leike to go for these autotech or APR upgrades, and a lot of guy using this "G" Pump up to 400HP - as they said.

So i ordered one to - its a ori part from VAG so i think quality would be on the safe side. But at the moment i stick to 1.15bar and not the 1,3bar you have! Maybe if i raise airmass to 270g, I also run short of fuel.....

Did some logging today - hmmm, lambda under WOT is between 0,77 & 0,84 - maybe a little bit too rich - but I got some difference between specified boost and actual boost preassure. Have to check the N75, if wastgate is fully closed - or maybe I stuck with the intake air mass due to my crapy stock airintake :-(
