Hi guys,

I've been trying to read my buddies 02 1.8t B5.5 Passat Wagon (Immo) that has a 4B0 906 018 CM ECU.
I'm using the latest NefMoto software (I have 0 issues reading and flashing my friends 01 1.8t CH and my 01 S4 M box ECU)
I've tried multiple Baud rates, his car does have 12v of power, opened ECU to confirm stock (prev driver was an old lady its whole life) , pulled negative for 5mins on batt. terminal. The memory layout will instantly fail to read on his Passat (29F800) and this is the log when we try to full read.

sounds like someone chipped this car or had a trial tune put on it. so it will need to be flashed with a stock file to overwrite the non-stock software in boot mode iirc.

EDIT: just saw the deal about the PO. skipped straight to the log, sorry. Immo is a tricky beast, i think theres a thread going about it right now. it shouldnt matter though if its immo2. immo3 may be a different story.

With MPPS it shall be readable. If a trial was on it before, forget writing it via obd. Had this same situation last friday.
All looked fine, untill i looked in the read-out file...  Revo was in it. No way it wanted to write the ecu of a audi S3.
Soon : bootmode-treatment.

did you try any other of the 29F800 layouts like the bb or bt?

if its a 2002 id be willing to bet that its a bb or bt and not a vanilla 29F800.

something to try at least.

hey pvl, not sure what MPPS is? The car has never been chipped or flashed as it was an old lady that owned it before him since day 1.
I opened up the ECU to confirm the memory chip stated 29F800, I have tried all the memory layouts with an instant fail.
I guess I could try another ECU off eBay?
