My turbo is making noise, so I thinking of replace it.
Car is A4 B6 BEX, turbo is original K03s.
It is everyday car, no need for too much power.
I can repair this turbo, or buy my old k03 hibrid(K04 compresor wheel)
But let's skip details i have another question. Is there significant difference betwen spol rate of this K03/k04 and lets say some garret ball bearing for same power.
Is it possible achive about 230-250 crank horse power, and 1 bar boost at about 2500 rpm?

You wont find a modern garrett with up to date technology like extendet tip in this size range.
Also a hybrid will have less space between housing and compressor and a better balancing than a garrett build in high quantities.

So what you compare is old garrett technology with newest up to date hybrid compressor and turbine.

Journal bearing can be fixed but ball bearing not that easy...

Stock k04 is the best choice for you
Or you can go for an tfsi ihi with some mods.

The "ball bearing turbos spool faster" thing is a myth.

Realy hard to find in my region, and overpriced  Sad

Thank you for all your answers, you helped me a lot to make decision. I will stay with my original K03s or take that hybrid I already have on my B4

They have better transient response though generally.
But the bearings affect maybe the last 10% of transient response, the first 90% are the weight of the rotating assembly and TIP.

I found k04-022, rebuild with good price, with little work I think I can adapt it.
Does anybody have a true spec about this turbo, dimensions of compresor and turbine
