The 2006-2008 Audi/VW R32 engines use the Bosch 0 280 158 121 extended tip injector OE due to the length of the three long intake port runners. Has anyone come across a non modified Bosch extended tip EV 14 injector in the 55-60 lbs./hr. fuel flow @ 3 bar that shares a similar dual cone OE injector discharge angle with a 25 deg. included spray angle and a 270 delta angle? Due to the "tunnel" that the spray must pass thru to reach the port/valve area the angles are important to prevent wall wetting. I've reviewed the Bosch injector data sheets I was able to find online, also the S4 Wiki injector info. and contacted several Bosch Motorsport dealers with no success.

Thanks for the info. The delta = 90 is the killer due to the port location of the injector. It's exactly the opposite of what is required. Some folks are using a very large 95 lb/hr injector they claim delivers good idle and full range control. It seems excessive and it doesn't have the extended tip so I wonder if they get wall wetting but have no idea??? You can clock the injector however you want on many motors.

Yeah I explored that possibility but it's not a good option the way the head, fuel rail and intake fit up. It may be the only option in the end but it's certainly not the preferred option. I've been trying to obtain some info. on the 16-hole Bosch injectors to see if they might be viable but I suspect on the long intake ports the fuel is likely to precipitate out of suspension? The 45 deg. cone angle may also be a problem spraying thru the tunnel in the head. I suspect VW used the specific injector design they did out of necessity as there aren't many extended tip EV14 injectors to choose from OE or aftermarket. https://www.fiveomotorsport.com/bosch-ev14-0280158296-16-hole-nozzle/

Yes, the 0280158298 could be a solution for your case. As far as my experience goes, the extension might be overstated. With the older VR6 12V engine I had better results without having the longer spray end fit in the tunnel, in my case the EV14-0280158040. It may be that for a single valve port the 040 has a nice fog where as on the 2V intake port the center spray hole is likely to spray directly on the divider wall. It would be nice if Bosch actually provided customer support for their products so one could determine the viability of using a different style injector for a specific application. They act so German some times…

I have not found any Bosch injectors that are optimal in matching the OE parameters with the correct flow volume.

Just use the 0280158040. I had the same dilemma long ago with RS6 and RS4 - you're overthinking it. The 0280158040 does a very good job atomizing and if you have any kind of load on the engine everything gets sucked inside anyway. Yes you will need to tune ESUK some. And if for some reason you have some issues on idle (but you shouldn't) you can also bump up KFMRES a little and play with cam advance to put a little more load on the engine. But really it is possible to make them run just as well as stock from a "feel" point of view.

With EV14 there is no such thing as huge until well over 1000cc. They are linear down to very low pulsewidth, you will not have any issues.
