Hello there,

My question is quite simple really. I've seen that the 06A906032HN definition files are easily found on the web. Would this be usable for my 06A906032DE ECU or is that a bad idea? If so i would be interested in learning more about mapping my own file, but if these are interchangeable that would save a lot of time.

Some values look correct while some seem off. Seem, because i am not 100% sure i can only confirm with what i can find on the web.

For example some variables look correct, like NMAXF @7424 but then NMAX is 'set' at 747.3 U/min (RPM?)

Is there any logic in this or is this complete wrong and should i look for other solutions to a proper XDF. Or would it be possible to use this as a start perhaps.

Thanks for any reactions in advance.

In some places it may match, in others, it may not. You need to match up the maps yourself by comparing, or use IDA (much more difficult) to disassemble the binary.

Thanks both, for the replies.

@fukenbroken, This 032DR def of yours is amazing. I can't thank you enough for that!! The values i've checked match up perfectly. So i suppose i can use this for my own experiments. Would you recommend using the Soft Limiter found in the S4Wiki?

While i would like that, i am interested in understanding more about my tune. My 20vt dyno'd at 260 and i would like to know what has actually changed in the map. I have not done this map myself, it comes from an "actual" tuner.

I also don't know if there can be any harm in modifying this existing tune. It has read protection but that was dispatched quite easily.

I also would really just like to experiment with different things, maybe pops and bangs, maybe a different approach to more power.

The only thing i am sceptical about is the flashing itself. I have a Kess V2 and a MPPS V13. Is it even safe flashing over a "NOREAD" tune? With a modified version of this original file.

Thanks for your time in advance! This forum has been amazing so far.

Thanks for all the tips. I did everything as should, when i proceeded to try and flash MPPS asked me to continue the write as normal, then it asked me if i wanted to force flash using bench? so i said no. Then the flash failed at 0% something to do with no rights im not sure. The ECU was set to programming mode, untill i removed the key. The car still functions so nothing was changed.

Im not sure what my issue is here, because i tried a few weeks ago aswell with Kess but that failed too. Right now im not really willing to try again and risking to brick it. So i am on the look for a second ECU to experiment with, this way i'll always have a functioning one.

Only thing im not sure about is which ECU's are exchangable nor can i find proper information on which i could use. Right now there is a 032DR for sale in my area but my car has a 032DE. Could i use this if i flash the appropriate tune on it?
