Immo off on APR chipped ECU
« on: March 16, 2020, 02:06:47 PM »
Have a buddy who picked up a secondhand APR k04 tuned ECU for a swap he's doing into a mk2 (ECU PN 06A906032PL). He's looking for me to disable immobilizer. Saw in one thread there's possibility of bricking the ECU if you try to disable the immobilizer if already tuned by a larger tuning company like APR, but no more detail than that. Is there any truth to this? Would it be plausible APR may have already disabled the immobilizer when chipping the ecu? Want to clear the air before I move forward.
Thanks!
