Hello guys. Have a problem, I tried to swap cluster to a rs4 in my 98 s4b5. Made a new wire harness. Problem now is that rpm does not work, jumps up and up, very stacky, never returns.  Why ? I have no canbus in my oem harness, but don't find any in new cluster either.
Also the speedo is weird, after 140 km/h it jumps to 180 and when you go to standstill, the speedo is still stuck on 40 km/h.
Tried to wire canbus from ecu (rs4 ecu) to enviroment unit but no difference.
Thanks

Can you do an output test on VCDS?  Possbly had the needles off in the past and they have been seated too deeply, causing them to stick.  An output test will show this.

Km/h have i not checked, but rpm yes steady value and react as it should, and if i connect the old cluster with only the blue connector (the one with power and rpm signal) it works.
I have also tried change the rpm motor in the cluster from my old cluster, and my old still works fine

On RS4 cluster RPM comes from CAN.
On 1998 it comes direct from wire.

haven't scan eeprom before so I will have to check how first.
i have vcds, nefmoto, vagtacho
this is also my first time with nefmoto..

most of the faultcodes are because my harness from pre facelift s4b5. so i dont have like SAI and so on. But CAN message and overboost is my biggest problem.
i also notice speed sensor error, but not with old cluster ?
performancetest also fail, rpm needle stucks at max rpm and km/h goes all the way then stops at 100km/h  Angry
