Hi guys,

I would like to share my low budget m3.8.2 to me7.5 conversion.

Car specs;

- 8L A3 from 1997, with agu engine(5speed).
- k03s turbo with 3inch downpipe
- AJQ engine injectors with adapter/spacer for agu inlet and a new fuel pump
- Stock auq intercooler with map sensor.
- AUQ seat leon ecu 06A906032MJ with immo off and some sensor delete(like vvt, second o2 sensor).
- DBC converted to DBW accelerator pedal
- Wiring loom 1 part from 8L a3 APP engine and other part(wideband o2 sensor connector) from leon AUQ engine

Car is running dtc free and A/C still working, but I have problem in 3th gear and up. By wot run you see fluttering in boost, I am not sure what is the cause. 1th and 2th gear it pulls great without power drop, but when you are in 3th gear and in high rpm you feel power drop and I see boost drop in my gauge. It may caused by knock adaption? I am not sure which maps I have to log. I found different remap files but they where more worse than the last one, which I am using now. the other files had turbo boost flutter(boost went up and down, like some adaption of ecu) in full load like broken n75, the last one does it only in 3th gear and up. I added my orginal ecu file and remap file which I am using now, If someone can take a look at the tuned file I would appreciate that.

I have some videos on youtube;

I added wiring diagram of Audi 8L a3 1997(AGU) + 2001(auq), in case if someone also want to convert his 1.8t to wideband me7.5 ecu.
You can also find some usefull information on these sites(nice explanation about the wiring loom):

Which maps do I have to log(I only used vcds to log)? And can I use any FT232RL cable for me7logger? I was thinking it is maybe the torque intervention. I already have done msr, asr, anti judder off, but didn't solve the poblem(but the car has now a harder pull).

To bad there are zero resources that give lists of things to log.

Thats correct I didn't dig that much in tuning nor in using me7logger(used vcds to log lambda etc.) My goal was to get the swap done and have a dtc free running car(all done by myself with a lot research on the internet, there are a lot of good information on this forum). M3.8.2 ecu has zero information on the internet(not like me7 ecu) and had to solder the chip(newer m3.8.3 can be flashed via obd). My next gaol will be to make my own tune file, I have already some me7 diy tune documantions(which I haven't read yet  Tongue). I have ordered a vag kkl cable, when I get it I will make some log files.

Hello,
Srry for late reply, I found out that my downpipe had a leak, after changing it to oem downpipe car run much beter and less turbo fluctuation. I still have few turbo fluctuation on wot run near 5k rpm and then i am getting steady boost. I tried a mbc in combination with n75, no turbo fluctuation. So i don't think waste gate is bad(I did't feel play on the wg shaft, but didn't test it with wg vacuum tool). Something is happening around 5k rpm on heavy load, then turbo boost acts weird for few times(ecu don t trow dtc). I did some logs with visual me7 logger, but i wasn't sure what to log exactly. I will make a video and log timing, boost and lambda with me7 logger, when I have time.

I found a video on youtube, which is very similair to my issue https://youtu.be/43nO0sRFx6M

Boost probleem has been fixed, but it cost me a new engine(bent rods Tongue). Not sure what cause it, but now the car runs better. I noticed that the car pulls hard till ~5k rpm, but it struggles to get above ~5.5k rpm. I think crankshaft sensor is failing or ARMD is effecting it not sure, haven't had time to check it.

I also changed these parts after the new engine was installed:
- engine code AYP from ibiza without vvt and smallport
- new fuelpump 265lph
- bosch 550cc injectors
- auq inlet manifold
- new turbo(k04-001 maxpeedingrods)

Also I have a new tune and pulls smooth till 5-5.5k rpm after that it pulls but it struggles. I made a video https://youtu.be/pZri2b9G4f0

Car is now running great, it has stable boost. Problem was the MAF sensor, this caused the boost fluctuation and the problem after ~5.5k rpm.
Made a video of 3th gear pull: https://youtu.be/e9YX9dIcoWw

Some new update Grin

We installed a hybrid turbo from Mamba and it is now holding more boost. At the moment we have peak 1.5~ bar and till redline it holds 1.0/1.1 bar. But still adjusting it. Made a video of it https://youtu.be/t8rmM2QiNwE

Some new update Smiley

Car still runs fine and without isseus for almost 1 year. I added a log if someone is interested.
Recently I met benni4000 from chiptuning-hb, he made some cool futures for our a3.
We have now mapsswitching and pops by cruisecontrol switch, I have some videos;

https://youtube.com/shorts/k9aJ5jnFbiU?feature=share

Our next goal is to install forged connection rods and bam pistons,
maybe we can get more power with this mamba hybrid turbo setup.
We also planning to install full 3inch exhaust(we now have 2.25 inch stock exhaust diameter after the downpipe, with cheap novus silencer xd) and stronger engine mounts. Stock mount broke once, we only have a stronger dogbone. So any recommendations are welocome Smiley
