as above, can our ECU's be read only using boot mode with galletto?

What's needed to make a bench harness?  A female port for the galletto and a plug for the ECU?

I have only been able to read the ME7 using Galletto in boot mode.

To make a bench harness you need to connect the K-line, ground, power, and ignition lines between the OBD plug of the cable and the ECU. Then you need to provide 12v and ground.

Not sure I agree here, either that or I don't follow the questions.

I can read with galletto in the car, recently read an Audi s3 2000. Also know it works on an A3 AUQ and Audi TT apx 2001,and my old S3 1999 APY read as well. they are all Me7 ecu's.

I also flash in car on my current S3 in normal mode.

Yep read takes about 90 seconds, flash takes 240 seconds.
And it was the only cable I found to work on my edc15 ecu on my golf.

Does it work only on your edc, or also on ME7.1 (e.g. S4)..

I have been told from a friend, that its no problem to flash with galletto1260 via obd.
I think I will give it a try this evening...

Then we will be sure Smiley

I hope it doesnt brake or brick anything...

Currently it works on my me7.5 s3 ban , me7.1 s3 apy and also edc15p but I know it doesn't work on my Audi a4 me7.5 bfb 2004, but then neither does nefmoto software! I'm think it's a cluster issue that stops it as on bench even in normal mode it reads fine!

Hmm, ,Ive been told, it should be running fine on the me7.1 aswell...

But I cant confirm it, because my galletto seems to be corrupt...

Yesterday it was able to read out ecu data (didnt try read or flash flash memory).

Today nothing works... perhaps its because its an ebay-one...

If there is success, ill post it.. But for today ill quit trying to find out..

Hmm,

didnt get it to work again. Galletto hangs up every time i try work with it.

Even using another computer didnt help.

Seems as if the cable is defective.

OK! Good News! IT WORKS!

The cable was ok. The problem was the voltage. I wanted to work with 13V and more.

Obvisiously, the cheap Galletto doesnt work with that voltage, although a voltage like that is demanded .!!!

So 12.X Volts are better for working than 13+!

So all in all, i can say Galletto 1260 works on an S4 ME7.1 (29f800bb) via OBD onboard flash without boot mode!

The flash needed about 22 minutes.

Have fun!
