I have some Hybrid ECU's that came out of a Saturn L300, and a Cadillac CTS 3.2L, and wanted to see if I could read the EEPROM, and readout the EPROM. I tried me7-eeprom-1.40 in boot mode (no go) and my tech2, and couldn't read with either. I used a harness plug to make a jig, and statically checked the pinout with the schematic and all good. I tried a couple of them. I use the ME7.3.1 pinout and ground pin #20. Can anyone help?

Why did you choose this type?
AFAIK GM vehicles have never used ME7.3.1 ecus.
Please provide exact Bosch part number
0 261 xxx xxx then we can determine the type of ECU.

And it definitely doesn't work with a tech 2 lol

I believe your correct (The Pinouts are the same, and I took the plastic cap off one and it looked the same, but the casting number is not). Here are some pictures of some off the ecu's I have.

Found intermittent connection/switch on my plug adapter...Now communication is working and can pull codes. I'm crossing my fingers, and will be testing boot mode.  Grin

Read tech docs first...
ME9.6 ECU use Freescale MPC5xx processors family.
This MCU does not have boot mode at all.
It use BDM port for full access to internal memory.
It will looks like on the picture.

Thanks. I think I can work with the ME9.6 using software from these guys: https://txsuite.org/

And I pulled the plastic cover off of the Saturn and on the ceramic board it says ME76ZP-A It looks similar to the ME7.3.1 but there are (2) chips that are not installed on the board and some resistors that are configured differently.

Here is the newer version 0 261 206 509 the main chips are different, and some very minor resistor changes. The older versions above are 0 261 204 591.

I made a pinout for the Hybrids if it'll help anyone.  The Saturn might be a dead end pin# 20 doesn't have a wire to pcb. Sad

ME7.6.x hybrid ECU doesn't have link of MCU boot pin and external connector.
This is the difference with similar МЕ7.3.x ECUs.
To put MCU in boot mode must find appropriate point(s) on ceramic board.
Here is example for ME7.6.2 ECU board for 4-cyl motor.  MCU here is ST10F276 with internal flash memory.
Your ECU is for 6-cyl motor and use C167 MCU + ext flash chip.
