I have a 2004 Volvo S60 2.5T. A common theme I have found with Volvos is that MPPS V21 will not read/write ME7/ME7.1 ECMs via OBDII. I would GREATLY appreciate if somebody could walk me through how to bench my ECM as I have no idea how to connect the jumble of wires that came with my tool to my car. Once I figure this out I should be fine as from what I have heard the tuning process is the same as any other car. Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a way to get MPPSV21 to work via OBDII with this car or not?

Google images for Bosch me 7.1 pinout.  Same for obd 2 pinout google images.  There is one line for Communication.  It’s called the k line pin 7 on the obd. 43 on the ecu.  All the rest is just power and grounds.

Volvo does not use ME7.1.

It is ME7.00 and ME7.01 System.

It does not support programming via KWP2000. It uses its own CAN encapsulated Volvo Flash and Diagnostic Protocol. The name is "D2".

The only possibility you will have with MPPS is to use boot mode programming via K-Line, which is shown on the above picture.

In general you should not assume that things which work for VAG Cars using any ME7 system will work on Volvo.
Yes, its also ME7, but different software base, different implementation of software modules, different communication, different calibration approaches on some (not all) modules, different system constants, other hardware /controlling concept, etc.

Good luck with that.
