Hi, I have the following problem. The previous owner said the replaced the Speedometer with from an R32.
But he probably only changed the disc and now I have the problem, that I drive faster then I actually am. So when I am going for 200 km/h GPS shows me also
200 but it should be much less.

I got my eeprom dump since I only want to edit the eeprom now and change how the arrow position act like
https://drive.google.com/file/d/19rB_SELxREgKR73hg9d_xIpEoU2Tmm62/view?usp=sharing
This is my dump and at 0230 the sequence is 0C 00 70 00 DC 07 3F 08 C3 0B B8 0D AB 0F 0F 10
which is the exact same as it is in an R32 eeprom which I checked. But for some reason the speedo is off by a lot.

A friend told me he was driving behind me while I drove 90 km/h he said he was at like 100 - 105km/h

Would be great if someone could help me here

Your post doesn’t make much sense.  You seem to be saying that you are comparing it to gps and that’s wrong too?  For gps “speed over ground” to be wrong the world would have to slow down and we would all fall off.  Might want to download an odometer app on your phone.

Hi, sorry for the confusion. GPS is 1:1 as what I get on my Speedometer.
I just need someone who can check my file, because the speedo disc got replaced by the previous owner of my car.

When I drive 200 km/h its 200 km/h on GPS but my friend told me, when he drove next to me, it was 220 km/h for him.
So I am driving less what my speedo shows me than I am actually driving. There should be like a 10% difference to GPS not a 1:1 ratio

I hope I could explain it a little bit better now.

There should not be a 10% difference.
If the speed is correct at every speed per the GPS, and the needle is at 0 when you're stationary then everything is normal. Especially if you are not running OEM wheel/tyre combination.

There should be adaptation in cluster to change the speed in the whole range as well that can be changed.

You are inventing a problem that does not exist. My S8 is 1-2km/h lower from GPS speed all the way to 200.

oh okay that makes sense. But when I do the Speedometer testing with VCDS it goes from 0 to 300 but in this case it only goes up to 280 instead of 300 the same with 100 it goes to like around 95 instead of 100.
Hope you know which test I mean.

Everything else is working its only the km/h that isnt doing what it should be doing.
Wheels and tyres are larger.

I don't know about test with VCDS.
But if wheels and tyres are larger then of course you will have speed closer to GPS.

Drive the car through the whole range with GPS if the speed is identical everywhere then there is no problem.

So your friend's speedo, which we all know can lie, especially if you add aftermarket wheels, says 220, yours, backed by GPS which is generally regarded as more accurate, agrees with your speedo.... this is likely to mean your friend's speedo is off then!

You should be pointing out how wrong his/her's is really, sounds like yours is fine dude!

So I was able to fix it, it had nothing to do with my slightly bigger wheels its only from stock 17 zoll to 18 zoll and still the same size tyres.

I used a dumpeditor and in there was a setting for GPS speed.
So tool said "...100km/h per GPS" and I could enter a value, the default was 105. After I entered the default value of 105 and did the VCDS
speedometer testing it went from 0 to 260 instead of the full 300 same for when it should it 100 mark it hit like 90~.

Then I changed the value from 105 to 90 and now it is working. VCDS test is perfect on the 100 mark and the 300.

Thanks for the help, it was pretty simple Smiley
