So I bought a used ecu off of ebay to replace the one In my car that was no longer communicating with car or flasher ( lol I mess up some how ) did a full backup with ktag and also read the eeprom with me7_95040.exe and the flash with nefmoto... afterwards I did a full restore with ktag using my original ecu backup and also wrote the eeprom with my original eeprom file using me7_95040.exe later after looking at the eeprom bin that came from the ebay ecu with eeprom tool I noticed that the ecu had a tuner tag that looked like this.
Tuner Tag:  ←Cx |
Does this mean the ebay ecu had a custom tune? and if so can I write it back to the ecu?

Thanks Mark

if it has a riser no.

if it has any sort of other prot, no, not with nef flasher.

if it has no riser, you can use bootmode if flash fails.

Before you go chasing waterfalls. Can you please post info about your car? Year / Make / Model. ECU ID and so on? Its hard to say you read the EEPROM right and rom if you dont share what ECU your working with...

Let us know and you might get better answers. If you share the EEPROM and ROM we can also look quick to see what happened.

Why bother? There isn't anything of interest.

If you are looking for a tune, start from a stock file, not a tuned file.

Extremely doubtful at this point. Pretty much everything out there is garbage, you can do better with a bit of time and DIY given modern understanding of ME7.1

@nyet...

Yes ofcourse except this is part of my "differential analysis" which actually shows you much more than if its different, actually which calibration tables are different between a tuned and a stock rom file and even possible to show by how much they've differ from the base map...
