Hello i have here an Ecu from an Audi A6 1.8T AEB ME3.8.2 with partnumber: 4B0 907 557 B which has an 27C1024 chip inside, and the purpose was to tune the car to stage 2.

I had laying around an ME3.8.3 ecu from an VW Passat 2.3 V5 engine which i wanted to use instead of the ME3.8.2 ecu because there is an 29f200BB flash in it.

So i downloaded an ORI file here at the forum from an 4B0 907 557 B, and wrote it in the ecu from the Passat, i also swapped the eeprom which are both 24c02.
The file i downloaded was 128kb and the flash is 256kb, and couldn't find direct information, so i just flash the ecu with the downloaded file, and the car was starting the first attempt!

Now the strage part... The first thing: The ecu is not regonized by diagnostic tools, not VCDS, no Autel, etc... and i wrote an good tested performance stage 2 mod in the new ecu, and there is almost no difference noticed, and the file is absolutely tuned...
IN FACT.. the car is running better on the stock unmodified ecu, which 27c1024 chip is not replaced, no socket, and absolutely original, the sticker is even on it..
And the last strange thing is: With the original ecu, the car is running about 900RPM on idle which looks great... and with the NEW ecu the idle is about 1100 a 1200 rpm which is just to high!

    - The the questions, am i doing something wrong that it not will be regonized by scan tools?
    - Can the ORI file from the ME3.8.2 directly be written on the (double size) 29f200BB chip?
    - What could be the reason for the higher IDLE?
    - Is it that i maybe have the wrong ME3.8.3 ecu?
    - How can it be that the car is running better on an unmodified stock ecu, instead of an stage 2 tuned ecu?

    I am a bit lost...

I have attached pictures of the ecu's where i am talking about...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Greetings Patrick.

Mate, how did you think that a VR5 ecu will run a 4 cylinder engine properly. The thing has 5 inj valve outputs and 5 ignition outputs, the whole PCB is different.

Stop fucking around and get a 3.8.3 flash or 5.92 ecu 4 cylinder ecu.

So well that is the problem... Thank you then!!

But you first say get a 3.8.3 flash, which needs to be also for an 4 cylinder then, which flash can i use for that car then?

And in what vehicles can i find an 5.92 ecu?

So i have a different engine ecu now, the 06A 906 018 N from a VW Beetle 2.0

This is an M5.9.2 ecu, i suppose i can use this ecu then?

And which file do need to begin with? For the 1.8T AEB engine?

You should probably transfer over the original eeprom if possible, and yes you need to try flash an AEB 1.8T 5.9 file on it.
So like 8D0907557M,8D0907557N,8D0907557P,8D0907558M,8D0907559 A4/a6 files. Should be able to find em on here.

Still though shouldve gotten an AEB M383 or M592 ecu for hassle free install, you never know when one little wiring difference or something pops up, VAG likes to lego with stuff. Might or might not work, some users even reported issues when crossflashing from the same family of cars/ecus with the dbc motronics.

The car is an DrivebyCable, and it is only FWD, does it matter then which version i have to use?

I copied already the immo data from the old ecu.

Hey Blazius i really appreciate you're input and information!!

I have downloaded the version P, and have made it stage 2, wrote it already on the flash, now only see when i can put it in the car and try because the car is not at my home at the moment!
So i will let know if everything had turned out fine this time!

Should've really flashed the stock file first to rule out any issues, then go on about tuning.

What do you mean you made it "stage 2" , like found and changed necessary maps etc. Mind sharing the mappack and stuff if that is the case for people?

Well i haven't yet test the ORI file in the car.

But indeed modified it to an powerful stage 2 tuning.
It is an tested solution, no doubt about it.
I had already made an tuning before, so only had to transfer the maps.

But sure, i will share it, no problem!

Hopefully people will enjoy the tune! Smiley
