I bought a used ECU from Ebay and want to use it as a spare ECU.
On the Cover it says 4B0 907 551 G So its from an auto A6. And has the 1024kb flash.

I thought - no problem. Just deactivate the immo and flash a M box file. Must work.

But it does not

I am using MPPS to boot mode it. When I try to flash a different file for example original M box from S4 it says error and no reply from ecu.
When I flash the file i have read from the ECU in boot mode everything works perfect and the ECU answers via VCDS for example.

There I can see that the file which is on the ECU is 4B0 907 551 S. So someone already flashed it before me. When I try to flash a original 4B0 907 551 G file like mentioned on the cover it also gives me an error and no reply. I can only flash the file that was on it before. WHY ??

I also tried different EEPROM files, but that does not change anything.

Yes. They both use the 800BB Flash memory with 1MB.
It just dies Not make sense.

When I Flash different file and connect the ecu to vcds it says "this is the RAM program". Normaly that means that its still in Boot Mode as far as i know. But like i said before. With the ori file everything works.

How to Check that?

Verify all files with me7sum/me7check before flashing them.

Do not depend on others to check it for you; you should know how to do it yourself.

Do you have mpps clone?
I have similar situation few days ago

Converting MPI 3.0 ecu to 2.7
So after all tryes this combination worked

1. Flash eeprom in boot mode
2. Flash via mpps tru OBD

Or in other way
First mpps than eeprom
