I am new to this flashing method. I come from ECUflash with DSM's and this is alittle different. I'm trying to read up but I have a few questions.

1. Will my 2000 A6 2.7T Tip be able to be flashed to the stock 250hp bin listed http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=1740.0title=

Also can someone point me to a Stage 1 tune that will work for me. I'm am still learning. Also how do I check or know if I have immo?

Thanks for help.

I'm attempting to read ecu now and backup I'm sure I have the correct memory layout selected.

You'll have immo in your EEPROM. You have to wodnload it via boot mode and command line tool that is posted in this forum, then hex edit it and flash back before attempting to flash this file

If flash file is completely same as old one (except for modified map) then you're good to go, but if you try to convert to different SW version then you have to edit EEPROM

....then you have to edit EEPROM
For what? How do you think the immobilizer code in the eeprom affects the program inside of flash chip? I flashed TT file for A6, and M-box file for A6 and allroad, other A6 chip for allroad and immo OK. Key code reads by instrument cluster(or immo box for a4) and ecu just compare immo code with key code from i-cluster and decides to run or not.
But I'm not sure that 250file(2001) will run at 230(2000), but for other reasons, not because of IMMO. First compare MLOFS -make sure that the MAF the same. Then read your stock chip and try flash 250file in boot mode. And run a car. If not running then flash back stok. And be sure that new file supports the automatic box ECU coding. it`s all
