so ?...other than being able to remover said chip and be able to change out, does a riser serve any other purpose mechanically? being as tho my ecu is fried im curious as to if i can desolder the 8 leg chip on the backside and replace it with the one from my fried ecu or if i can desolder the chip off it and put them both on this other ecu. i have 2 other spare ecu's that came out of 2001 passats that were 5 speed unlike my b6 a4 thats awd an 6-speed have all the things i need, know how to get in bootmode and have a blue cable and know how to add the bin file to eeprom but no idea where to start on removing the immo off these spare ecu's or if the other topic is possible....any advice or help would b appriciated thanks in advance

I have no idea what you are asking.

its garbage, it will prevent you from reading/writing (that's its purpose)

scrap the whole thing and replace with a fresh flash. It isn't "8 legs" though.
