How does the ecu control the aux water pump after ignition is turned off? The only power to the pump is from a relay controlled by the ecu, which no longer is running any code.

Im looking into patching some code to keep small aux pump running for 5 minutes after the ignition is switched off. I found the code where B_zwp is set but Im confused as how the ecu would act on the pump after 5 minutes when the ignition is off and I've already locked up the car. Is it possible to do such a thing?

Ecu is awake as long as the ECM relay is turned on(controled by pin 21)

What car it is? On what pin is aux pump relay?

just use a lower after run temp thermostat. much easier. circa 2001 mod.

2008 R32.ME7.1.1 ST10  Aux pump relay controlled by ECU pin 48.
The ECU needs power at pins 3,21,62 .

Pin 3 and 21 go through relays to get power. Only the pin 3 relay is controlled by the ECU (by Pin23).  Pin 21 relay is controlled by the "Multifunction control module relay #2"

Pin 62 is either permanently on or through the ignition switch.

How does the ECU determine that the after-run has finished and shuts down the relay you mention?

Unfortunately the R32 doesn't seem to have one of these, just a standard thermostat.

Sorry I don't know that. Try to look in MED 9 FR, log some variables

1.8T also use ECM relay so it might be in ME7 FR something about ECM relay

3 years ago i put a file from 1.8t BAM 8N0906018H (it had aux water pump
) to a vw polo 1.8t witch had aux water pump and this 06A906032TL but the aux water pump not worked with  8N0906018H file.
So i think in ecu file exist something to control the relay and aux pump.

Looks like its easy. Just a couple of maps to keep radiator fans on at low duty cycle and activate at lower temp at after run.
