what are some of the sizes of Throttle bodies. I think it would be nice to compile a list of easily had compatible DBW throttle bodies for the platform. My measurements are the ID of the TB Plate surface area, or the plate size. 1.8T DBW = 57mm ID S4 = ? RS4 = ?  |

I have a "A" Box throttle body laying up at the shop I'll measure tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it's 70mm though.

Rs4 is a 83mm. 85 and 90mm mafs are also popular

80mm Hemi Throttle bodies are pretty common on 1.8T

Never looked into tb sizing before. But a quick search lead me to a thread of dyno figures on a 1.8t with a veriety of sizes. Are these measurents inner or outer diameter?

B5 RS4, VW W8 = 75mm
VW R32 = 75mm
Some Audi V8 A8's = 75mm
Dodge Hemi = 80mm
Inside diameters.

The measurement itself was a tad deceiving. The inlet on an A box tb was 70mm, while the plate itself was more like 67mm. Who would of known. Now wonder measurements all over the internet are different.

Part number 078 133 062 B, from 2.8l passat is the same as an S4 throttle body except for the coolant lines i believe.
S4 tb part number is 078 133 062 for reference.
If anyone could point me in the direction of maps that would need some tweaking, i'd be thankful!

FTW thanks for the info. Wanna discuss tuning of these Next What was the out come of this? I have a 1.8T here running a R32 TB, it seems fine under load and driving, its got a nicer linear response. The issue it after going from WOT the rpms seem the hover for a second or two. I will have a play tomorrow to see what I can find. Nick |
