I'm trying to play with one currently and having a crappy time with it... No matter what file I seem to pull from the ECU it's garbage... no maps to be found.

Using MPPS V12, it seems like the 35kb file (data only) contains nothing, and when I attempt a boot mode read I only get 266kb file and again just garbage.

Try Galletto in boot mode?

I know there are a few people on this forum, who swear that MPPS reads in boot mode, but I never ever got it to work.
All it ever did was say mode not supported and asked me to reset the ECU. Then continued to read in normal mode on bench.

just to update... the issue was because the car was already tuned.. so MPPS encrypts the output due to a NOREAD in the file.

I solved it by using Galletto in boot mode and got the 1MB flash out successfully.

And actually I finished my first revision for his car from a stock 996T BIN... gonna see how that goes on later today, pretty pumped. I just hope the ORI I found on here was good (never know with internet files).

There are many reasons, one of them is that the dash interfers in some applications.
That's not my point. My point is MPPS can't do boot mode, period. It can flash on bench by bypassing immo, but it does not do boot mode.

of course MPPS does boot mode, but I think it depends alot on which SW+HW version, original or clone, ECU, harness etc.

I want to see that for myself. Tried with 3 or 4 different ECU's so far. It can flash them on bench over KWP2000 by bypassing immo, but not a single one works in boot mode.
If you set the ECU in boot mode it just tells you "mode not supported" and restart ECU. If you restart it with boot mode, it says that again. If you restart without boot mode only then it flashes. Any time you ground Pin 24 it does absolutely nothing.

Just because you say it does, does not make it true Wink

So you plug in the ecu, hold pin 24 to ground, and after that hit write?
Because that's what I've done, and I've never got it to work on any ME7.1 or ME7.5 ECU.

Galletto has never let me down in those cases Smiley

Did you choose the boot mode version of the ECU in the list?

Also there is a Generic menu option for Bosch ECU's and that is 100% boot mode if you need it.
