Hi guys, I'm struggling to find any information on this topic.

So I have the original DSG read (Kess V2 File OBD: 448KB) from 2007 Audi TT 2.0T with the following ID (old gearbox):

HW: 02E927770AE
SW: v0698J0502ea__getriebe_DSG_ZF8J
SW upg.: 02E300050J  1405
Installation: GSG DSG         081

Now, I have replaced the gearbox with a gearbox from a 2007 Golf GTI Edition30 2.0T with the following ID:

HW: 02E927770AE
SW: v0697G0102ea__getriebe_DSG_OL7G
SW upg.: 02E300050   1401
Installation: GSG DSG         081

Both HW numbers are the same with difference in SW.

My question is, can I simply reflash the file that I read through OBD from the original gearbox, to the new replaced gearbox? I am wanting to do this to retain my gearbox tune from the original box.

Thanks for any help Smiley

To use the clone method, and to ensure that the two transmission mechanical hardware is the same (can be confirmed from the three-digit code of the gearbox), if the mechanical hardware is different, need to modify the data to work properly.

The gearbox works with no issues

What I am asking is can I write the flash file (448kb) that I have from the old gearbox onto the new one having the same hw but different sw numbers?

Yes. Be sure that the new gearbox has the same gear ratios, otherwise your old SW will not work without modification or, in other words, if old SW is compatible with new gearbox code if it is different.
I would read SW from new gearbox and compare gear ratios to your old gearbox.
