So I’m wondering what would cause an ecu when installed in an awp 1.8t 5 speed car to have 0 throttle response and not go above idle

The ecus is shot, its a common problem with the wideband 1.8t ecus when the o2 sensor wires are shorted out. May not be a problem on your car but the original car that the modified ecu is out of had some kind of short on the o2 sensor circuit and fired the ecu.

No way to salvage it
