Heads up on the launch control I thought I finally found a file that was going to be trouble free but after a few days of driving I got the dreaded no start "internal memory checksum" krud just like the 518AK file does so i need to work on this might have to start another thread to talk about this. I know its been talked about before I think I have to modify eeprom wich I have one made already to put the ecu in test mode then I have an address in the 518AL file for the NOROMCHKRESET but not quite sure its as easy as changin a byte or It may be deaper than that like changing its location all together. Hence why i guess you shouldnt have launch conrol if youre not a rocket scientist. wish me luck

little update on the whole disable checksums deal. I have the updated xdf with what I think is the right byte sequence for disabling checksums in the Checksum fix hex change table dont mess with cw_noromchkreset or rom test tables. keep in mind I havnt drivin the car enough times to confirm this works but so far so good. I learned this from the R32 ols simulator thread and Im still learning IDA/dissassembly so Ive only modified hex I havnt confirmed that my work did what its supposed to in the ROM. Hope all this makes sense anyway here is the xdf with the address and hex mod in the launch control folder and also the modified test mode eeprom file. This all started because launch control on this file always causes internal memory checksum and causes a no start condition. If Im going about this the wrong way someone can totally tell me Im doing the wrong thing. Im all about adressing problems and knocking them down so I usually dont stop until I get things figured out.

Also the CW_NOROMCHKRESET and the ROM TEST tables are untouched and just there to look cool the only thing I modified to disable checksums is the patch 47 F8 55 00 EA 00 F2 7C in the checksum fix hex change table I added and I also flashed the Eeprom with the modded TEST MODE immo off file.

There was a typo in the last XDF I posted in the checksum fix hex change table. The correct patch is 47 F8 55 00 EA 00 F2 7C here is the updated XDF. Soon as I verify this checksum patch solves the no start condition I will add it to the LC Launch Control Patch. Usually if you go more than a few days without the no start condition you can assume success but I have heard of out of nowhere weeks later it happening so we shall see....

UPDATE: Checksum fix patch one did not work for having Launch Control thats trouble free I still got the no start condition and internal memory checksum code. Now onto testing Checksum fix patch two its in the XDF I updated. I will give it a couple days and see what happens...If checksum fix patch two dosnt work I did build another launch control package with code and variables at different locations I will test see if I can get away from checksum areas probably what I should have done in the first place instead of tryin to bypass checksum checks. Fact is I need to get a good IDA program and do this the right way. I think the good IDA cost some dollars need to figure out wich one to purchase then make sure I have what I need for the siemens c167 processor or what not um yea, Andy Whitaker videos I must watch all of them. Heres the XDF with the checksum fix patch two hopefully this works.

Still going good since applying the checksum fix patch two that's in the last xdf I posted. Ill give it some more time if this ends up to be the golden ticket for having LC on the AL file I will put out another XDF update with the change added to the LC patch and clean things up a bit in the LC LAUNCH CONTROL folder. It doesn't end here though I still want to test moving addresses around to try and avoid checksum areas. I'm also planning to work with the other files I like to use on my car like 8E0909518F and 518AK. I have two different ecus I play around with one the 518F the other originally a 518AF that I'm now working with the 518AL file on. I'll probably throw one more xdf on this thread then start a new thread in the proper section I wanna give credit where its due and address the topic a little more. I want to get a solid understanding of what is actually happening when certain hex changes are made.

Here's the final version of the xdf I've been working on it has an Internal memory checksum fix for the launch control that has been working for me on this file I also modified the eeprom it's a couple posts back to download...Thanks to everyone on this forum that spread their awesome knowledge and tools that make any of this possible...I spent the last couple years learning to do quite a bit now I'm finally trying to give back and help others if I can....
