Hello all.

Im trying to tune the car myself im quite new to tuning and love every bit of it.
if come very far and learning new things from the S4Wiki everyday.
I came across a problem and cant find a solution for it.
Unfortunately cant get me7logger to work due to cluster issue's upgraded with HypeFIS to see alot of info via K-Line
Car is not driveable with cluster unplugged. dumping extra fuel etc.... dont know why. (Golf 4 1.8T of 1999)
I logged with vcds and hope someone can tell me what im doing wrong.
Tuned kfzw, kfltbs, krtke, tvub, kfmirl, kfmiop, kfkhfm, mlhfm(s3 maf).
Not pulling any timing. only on hotter temps around 45 degrees and higher or after alot of 3rd gear pulls
Not dumping any fuel at higher rpm steady +2 / -2 fuel trims on wot
But now i came across wastegate duty cycle problems, I tried tuning KFLDIMX and KFLDRL to get 1.45 bar boost till redline.
cant seem to get it stable and wont hold 1.49 bar and duty cycle drops to 50% while in KFLDRL and KFLDIMX is 65+
Any help/advice is appreciated to get the tune right and hold boost and not open wastegate.
Are there any other maps besides KFDLULS, KFLDHBN, TLDOBAN. that can cause interference with higher boost and opening the wastegate to 50%
any advice will be followed up and listened to.

See log and picture of my maps added.

kind regards.

can you get a spare cluster to use temporarily?

all of those logs are a total mess. return everything to stock and take logs.

Hello Nyet

U want me to use a fully stock file with k04 hybrid turbo?
its stock 150hp aum engine.
Nothing is stock on this car anymore

injectors, turbo, fuel pump, MAF, Wastegate, intake, fmic, etc etc etc.....

should i leave MIRL, MIOP, KFZW as it is and maybe start with 1 bar boost and build up the boost from there?
What is the best situation to handle in this case?
i had to use a richer AFR because it was knocking. i dont know if my mixture is too rich now.
Could you explain what is a total mess so i can check into it and see what i did wrong?

Many thanks.

Thank you

in second gear it drops quickly to 1.2 bar and then stays there. when i shift there is a loud bang out of the exhaust.
not good....
Third gear runs very smooth almost no hiccups and stays 1.4 bar but it still doesnt feel right needs fine tuning.
any advice what i can do next is appreciated because i already tried like 20 different files with other kfldrl and kfldimx without solution.

made a new log in second gear.

upped kfldrl and kfldimx a bit more but still not hitting target boost in second gear and 3rd gear is now fluctuating.
something is causing me to underboost and the engine is not happy with the fluctuations and backfiring after letting go of the gas pedal.
no knock occurring lowered KFZW map
Lost for words now.....

Changed LDEIAP to +10
Changed TLDIAPN
Made LDRXN more smooth.

anyone?

you're riding IMAX

How do i avoid hitting IMAX?

i tried, logged changed maps like 20 times with different kfldrl and kfldimx
it keeps opening wastegate and hitting IMAX, is there a way to avoid this?
is there a way to tune around IMAX so it stays steady 1.45 bar boost without losing WGDC control.
Change LDEIAP and TLDIAPN even more?

best regards.

raise imax, check your imax trims so they're zero

Trims are close to zero now.... changed KFLDIMX even more.
still not hitting requested boost and boost is very unstable, can feel the car jerking when wot.
i thought the exhaust pops were solved but they are back again and louder after every shift or letting go of the gas pedal.

changed kfldimx to: see pic.

the boost is just not stable and i dont know why

look at KFLDRL - you're mapping 80-85 WGDC from the PID to something very very low.

i'd put all the other PID maps back (LDRQ0-2) to stock and stick with tuning KFLDRL/IMX first.
