Hello everyone
I have a TT with 1.8T AWP and want to read/verify if its tuned and to save the ecu file to my pc. I found a post on another forum (
https://www.vwvortex.com/posts/115369372/ ) that shows how to read the ecu with NefMoto. I read the wiki, but this is my main concern:
Does this apply when reading?
My other concern is voltage. I have a 12V/8A battery maintainer/trickle charger from Amazon.

Thank you
Is your ecu tuned by a commercial company? If so get another ecu otherwise the quote you pointed out will happen or it will leave the car in limpmode revo is known for this and you can find many threads about it. If you are have any doubt, do yourself a favor and get a spare ecu from any awp auto or manual. Matter of fact aww, awv, awp ecus will cross flash just fine to the correct software version. This will give you a chance to get a grip on reading and writing in bootmode, reading and writing the eeprom, learning how to disable the immo or adopt the existing immo. All while keeping the original ecu unmodified for a fail safe for when you end up bring your ecu. Its a matter of time if you do it enough. Laptop dies, error in writing, cars battery too low, laptop goes into sleepmode, bump the cable plugged into the obd2 port etc.
