Tried to flash this to an 8E0909518BC ecu with no luck. Is it possible hardware is different? Tried another file (8E0909518AF) and it works, but has EPC light probably due to file mismatch..Any ideas?

Vehicle is 2002. Tried another file found on here (8E0 909 518 AF) and works great..Original ECU is an F, which was why I wanted to stay with an F file. After flashing the file you posted, I have no cel, and no start obviously. The original ECU has a daughterboard on it, so nothing I can do with that. The car randomly dies out.

Is it possible the contents of the 95040 need to match your file? I cloned the original 95040 contents over from the original (F) to the BC ecu I have here. Like I said it works with the AF, but not with the F you posted? Strange one..

One more thing...This car is an auto/tip and has an F ecu in it. Yours says manual trans. I thought on these cars the letter designation pertained somewhat to trans type?

is the solder joints bad on your daughter board ecu? maybe try to drag the joint and see if it fixes your random shutoff issue
