I'm just lazy and was hoping someone has a def.  Not sure why they're flat stock and how to get rid of it.

Marty for the noob over here, could you explain what you are offering?
could you explain what the difference is between my ecu and the CB?
both for the mk4 r32

I am a noob, but i'm willing to learn, i wanted to try and use the information, i found on the forum archive and use the index to define the map packs? this is the manual way of doing things but i guess i dont have a choice(very unsure of what goes where), is this called xdf(definition file?)
i wanted to compare the two(mine vs attached)
???question, am i understanding the idea of definition file correctly???>>map identification?

Hi guys

from what i understand. i open the hex file using winols.
then i go to the address where winols suggests a "MAP" is.
i varify this "map" address and size with that of the excel sheet?
i create the"map"
add a description. and boom its under my maps.

question!! the map disapears when i close winols. where do i save these"my maps"

what version of winols is better. any help here? am i even on the write track?

"Project - save" or the little floppy disc looking icon when you create a map.

What excel sheet? You can def any mk4 one with the files on here really, there's only a few bytes added here and there so you can see the hex figures around them so you just shift the offset a touch and re-define.

Take a look here, the green 05's at the bottom, you can see that before them if you follow it, it goes 96, 7D, 64 etc all the way to the 00, 05, 50 bit then you can see added values there before the FF, FC bits - that's all the differences there are, easier if you try and see those patterns though if you're planning on spending time on it;
