I'm just starting out tuning my car, have been lurking on the forums and reading a lot. Decided to start logging my OTS Unitronics tune and see if I couldn't fine tune it a little bit. It is a MAFless file, which I understand is a no-no around here. I am aware that MAF is the primary load input, and I actually finished making my intake tonight, so MAF is going back in ASAP.

I plan on restarting from a stock file when the MAF goes back in, so I'm just curious as to whats happening in my current file. It is set up for Siemens 630cc injectors @3BAR and 20psi. I logged a 3rd gear pull at 32*F and if you check the log, it leans out a lot in the top end. I found that very curious because I have been running this file for over a year and my WOT AFR has always been ~11.4. Inj duty cycle was also over 100% so I threw in my 4 bar FPR and changed KRKTE accordingly, and also changed TVUB because Unitronics was almost stock. I logged it again and my LTFTs were both around 7%, and it still showed lean on the top end.

I'll update this post with the KRKTE values of both files in a bit.

3rd gear 32F is 630cc@3bar Uni file
tvub #1,#2 are 630cc@4bar (727.5cc) with changed KRKTE and TVUB


EDIT: I should add, the UNI file is BTS fueling only. TAGBTS set at -50.00. LDRXN, KFMIOP, KFMIRL, Ign maps all changed. LDRXN is 236 from 4k RPM on.

What turbocharger do you run?
Also fuel pump how many miles has it?
20psi and 17ms with dekas 630cc (+ on 4bar) is not normal.

Turbo is a garrett t3/t4 60 trim, it flows 52 lb/min. I am running 25 psi with a MBC. Fuel pump is a walbro 255, not sure of the mileage though. Maybe 20k miles on it? I have heard so many bad things about dekas I'm almost ready to sell em and get ev14s or ID1000s, but I can't afford them right now.

It does seem to me like a hardware issue?

Your problem is most likely that your fuel pressure is dropping out under load.
Relay the fuel pump if you have not already, and attach a fuel pressure gauge and check.

Doesn't the fuel pump have a relay stock? I am not sure what you mean by that. I didn't think to check the fuel pressure.

EDIT: After doing some reading, it seems my fuel pump could be the issue. It has a built in pressure relief for 75psi. 58psi base pressure + 25 psi boost = 83psi line pressure.

No, I am talking about running power to your fuel pump directly from the battery and putting in a relay close to the fuel tank.

All fixed. Turned out the fuel rail was not letting the injectors seat right, and the fuel pump was also bad. Changed both out and it works perfectly now.

Well the pump was expected, but not proper deka's fitment on 1.8T fuel rail its a lottery!

Well the pump was expected, but not proper deka's fitment on 1.8T fuel rail its a lottery!

All that was needed was a boring out of the mounting holes for the rail. The injectors were not sitting straight in the injector cup.
