My brothers s4 has a vast tune and were trying to back it up to try different tunes.
When I try to use Nefmoto it just fails on the spot when i hit read ecu.
Whats the best way to back it up with out f**cking it up i can post it if its success full.
I have a ebay blue kkl cable
Also I have a bunch s4 ecus m box and others can i just flash them with a box tunes ?

or convert to hitachi and flash with mbox
or convert mbox tune to bosch.

its got a rs4 maff so i can just load a m bin onto a non m ecu with out a problem

does anyone know if vast has lockup or anything to prevent me from doing a backup from nefmoto
Do they restrict reading there files.

Probably. Better to get a spare ecu and do your own tune if you want to do modifications. Not a fan of altering other people's tunes. I like to know what EVERY one of my changes does.

Bootmode for reading and writing if there's any doubt. No way to prevent reading/writing as long as the ecu isn't socketed. No guarentee you'll be able to make sense of what you pull, but it will allow you to back up and re-write.
