id love the same if possible.

might seem like an odd question but i take it the xdf is what is made by someone who sits down and goes through the callibration and writes down what each section is for or controls?

Correct. Goes through calibration and/or goes through assembly code to see where the maps are.
And this requires a lot of effort.

There is a 551C definition file posted on this site, but it lacks a lot of stuff..

I know, really struggling being a total newbie to it all, only wanted to add a few things to my already mapped ecu, launch and flat shift being the majors along with left foot braking as I want to get on track this year

launch and flat shift will be a lot of work unless you do an mbox conversion

left foot braking is trivial in any file.

You can't do that because the c box is 512k only. If you are in europe you can easily get a D box which is 1024k from ebay
and then you can flash an m-box file to that one.

yep im in the uk.

so i find a 551D ecu, then flash it to the m box setup, thing is i will loose my current tune, and that cost me a fair lump :-/

can it be any d box from any audi/vag or will it have to be specific to the s4?

cheers for all the help by the way peeps

Well there are two for sale on the German ebay at the moment (8D0907551D), I guess you better off getting this one, I am not
sure about other Audi ECUs but there is a possibility that others will work as well.
Even if you have a tune on the C box there is a possibility that you won't be able to read/write/modify that. It depends on who did the tune.
You also have to note that you will either have to disable immo on the D box or re-solder your immo chip from the C one to the D if you end up switching
ECUs.
(I also had a C box with a tune on it then I switched to an M-box based tune)

Someone on here had a c-box and ran the tune on a 1mb flash chip, it was IIRC the tune written twice. Not sure how that works?

But why join nefmoto if you aren't interested in tuning your car?

Yeah I did that ugly thing Smiley I was trying to diagnose an issue with the ECU so I wanted to run the same software on my other ecu which was a D-box,
so I concatenated the C file twice and flashed that to the D-box. The car ran fine however there were some strange stuff going on with vag-com for example
which was expected I guess. Of course at that point only bench-flashing worked because even nefmoto failed to connect to the ecu.

If you are interested then just get an ECU that you can tune easily and flash from the car (which you can't do with the C one) and from there you will have a working tune and one for playing around so that
you can switch the ECU back and forth whenever you want.

Hi!

I found two handmade .xdf definitons in this forum for c-box.
but both lack of a proper FKKVS map, which is not correct in my opinion ( one says 0x1B388, the other 0x1CB30).

I reworked a bit and may be someone can use it or review:
