New to all this, used Emerald before but his lot is a bit harder.

Have ebay cable FT232R USB UART

Have the NefMoto 1.9.3.2 flasher

Car is '98 S4 B5 with 8D0907551C ecu

I can connect but it keeps failing to read full flash

This keeps coming up in the status window

ECU reports that security access is not supported.

And this

Disconnecting because no response was received for the Tester Present message.

Tried all i can but like i said im new to this.

All i want to do is read the ecu so i can look at everything and possibly impliment launch control and flat shift

Ecu has a MTM/QST map installed so not sure if that is stopping the flasher program from reading it?

Cheers

You will not read this ecu over OBD with this tool.
Even if you start to read, it will die half way, the cluster interferes.

Software wise not that I know. But I also don't own a million different tools.

You need to get a direct K-Line from the ECU to the diagnostic connector.
This is also required for ME7Logger to work with certain clusters.

Though it is also very much possible reading is disabled in your file. Usually what I find with these is that you can start to read, and then it'll break up mid way.
I don't use the nefmoto flasher though.
