So, I picked up a MKIV GLI... and I have misfires due to burnt/bent valves on cyl 2, unfortunately I need the car to pass OBD2 emissions tests in the next few days before the trip permit expires.

I'm thinking about attempting to disable the misfire detection in the ECU as that is the only code that is stored in the ECU which causes the CEL (which = automatic fail).

Does anyone have any experience with this ECU that can point me in the right direction as to what maps to look at?  It's an RN box (but others works just as well from what I've tried).

Much appreciated!

misfire recognition can be turned off in the same 18194 area with all the other emission codewords.

So I have changed the following.. hoping it will work (without having to alter too many maps):

Codewort Ausblendkriterien 1 -> Kriterium aktiv (CWSTPCNF) set to 0
