I have flash my car many times without an issue. Today it flashed ok but when i started car it ran then cut off , like fule pump was getting switched on and off . I can not get connected to ECU to flash back to stock. it tries to connect but ends up disconnected. Car is at work and need it to get home tonight . Any ideas chaps ? The file i flashed was checksum checked.

what are you using for checksum not always are they right post the file i can check i would crack open the ecu ground the pin to put it in bootmode and flash it with galleto over car obd port

Using the checksum plugin for tuner pro and ME7 check to double check before flash . |

Using the checksum plugin for tuner pro and ME7 check to double check before flash .
The flash seemed to work correctly , telling me it has flashed 19 out of 19 . Just when i went to start car fuel pump was going on for two seconds then off then on , like this co nstantly |

If you can't connect, bootmode a stock flash back on there (or at least the last version you used that worked). These things happen.
I hope you took everyone's advice and became proficient with bootmode prior to NEEDING it!

No Bootmode will not affect your Immo configuration  |

Immobilizer functions can be left intact for bootmode flashing.
Just keep in mind, flashing a stock file in bootmode will allow you to restore communication with the ecu, but it must be reprogrammed using nefmoto to remove the checksum/programming DTC that will result.
So, flash it in bootmode. Then reflash it with nefmoto.

Which reprogramming/checksum DTC do you refer to? Read alot about bootmode flashing and did it my own with mpps/galletto and never got any dtc. So i am a little bit confused now  |

So i am a little bit confused now Point being, if you ever flash a file with a bad checksum, the error is stored in the eeprom (see the death code in the immobilizer sticky) until the ecu is reflashed using the vag protocols. I suppose you could recover the ecu with bootmode, then manually edit the eeprom to clear the code, but I always just flashed via OBD when it occurred. |

tried that for an hour with batt off but no joy. I have tried using my FT232R cable with galletto cable ID . Ground pin 24 while reconnectinig battery , ignition is on at this point . Remove ground after 5 seconds then try to write stock flash . just keeps on saying boot mode inactive . Any idea ? |

I could never get the galletto cable to work in the car, bootmode or otherwise. Where are you located? If you're local (I doubt it) I'd fix it for you. Otherwise, keep trying and consider building a bench flashing setup. |

I could never get the galletto cable to work in the car, bootmode or otherwise. Where are you located? If you're local (I doubt it) I'd fix it for you. Otherwise, keep trying and consider building a bench flashing setup.
Its not a proper galletto cable , just my FT232R with the galletto cable serial . So you think a bench flash would be the best bet Im north east scotland ! |

I think bench flashing would take a lot of the variables out of the equation, but user error is the hardest to eliminate  Bootmode: Start Galletto, hit WRITE. Wait for the prompt to pop up about grounding pin 24. Ground pin 24. Power up ecu (in the car this means turning the key on, but I find it works best to leave the key on, disconnect the battery completely, then reconnect the battery as the pin is grounded) Count to 5 (or 10, longer doesn't hurt as long as you remove the pin before reading/writing) Remove the pin from ground while leaving the ecu powered up. Once you have grounded the eprom, do not cut power to the ecu until the programming session has finished. Hit OK. Should work at that point. This is how I'd do it. |
