Not 100% correct conclusion. It's simple. There are two ESKONF data sets.
The first one is used if the ECU is coded for 6-MT (xxx1x), the second one is used if the ECU is coded for 5-AT (xxx5x) transmission.

I suspected as much, but without a 6MT vehicle I had no way of confirming.

Attached is an updated definition with the 2 ESKONF tables added.
