Just bought a second hand ecu to replace my original one. Its same part number but appears to have a revo map installed . How can i disable or get round the immo using vag commander or is my only option to bootmode flash the immo with a immo off bin and then reflash a stock map . Ok i can modify the revo immo bin using vag commander and it writes the changes to the ecu but im not sure which address turns off the immo and checksum . I have attached the bin I would be very grateful if some of you gurus could modify the bin to immo of and do checksum . Paypal reward ! My seat cupra has been off road to long with ecu issues.

Thanks ,is this an immo off so the revo map will still work ? I will bootmode flash it tomorrow and if it works i will paypal some cash for your help. |

I took a look, he immo-offed your original file, so the revo file shouldn't be affected.

Are there well-known interfaces between rom and flash or with other words: are there big tuners that protect their tunes with special code in the rom?

Honestly, I'm not sure how it works. I just know it's common practice. APR, revo, VAST, they all do/did it. |

You might have to re-flash the entire immo bin back to stock from what I understand. Revo are bastards to prevent people from over writing their software... |

Yes , i could not re-flash the revo eeprom . Had to reflash stock files and all is well . |

They are not well known, but many tuners tie their tunes to the ECU EEPROM to make cloning difficult. The best thing to do is flash the EEPROM and ECU program area to stock. That solves all the problems. |

hi
just searched through the forum for solutions to get ecu restored after revo tuning.
my friend has a vw golf gti tfsi (me9) which he bougth second hand. Ecu is blocked somehow probably due to some kidn of revo or other tuning Company has blocked it for obd reading.
What is the best solution? is it the flash stock eeprom and program area with BDM or are there any other solutions?

Stock flash the EEPROM ? I have the same problem with an ME 7.5 ecu previously tuned by APR. Should I just flash one of the ImmoOff files found on the forum ? |

Flashed another ME 7.5 with an immo off and my own remap (removed APR) and car runs now.
So my problem was not the immo off thing, it was the ability to start the ecu in Boot mode.
