Hi,

After a few weeks researching this forum ( Smiley), I've used the Nefmoto tool with 29F800BB memory map to read a 1024kb ECU file from my 1.8T ARZ Golf. The well known mapping company I plan to use advised me that the file for my ECU (HW Number: 0261206436 / SW Number: 1037352758 / SW Update: 06A906032AR 0007) should only be 512k and use memory layout 29F400.

Whilst the Nefmoto tool reads the software without any problem using memory map 29F800BB , I get a 'this doesn't look right / are you sure' type message when I try to use memory layout 29F400 / 29F400BB - so I've not attempted to read with these.

I understand that the 29F800xx memory map is probably causing the data to be read twice.

I've since read the ECU data with Galletto (using 29F400BB memory map option) and it reads the following:

06A906032A
1.8L R4/5VT
0261206436
1037352758
Flash:29F400BT

I've not attemped to read the full ecu file with Galletto as I'd prefer to use Nefmoto.

Any guidance which will let me read / write to this ECU with Nefmoto tool would be most appreciated.

Confirmed memory layout with Galletto, ignored the Nefmoto tool warnings and used the '400' memory configuration to read the expected 512k file. 400BB memory config. also seems to read fine too. Not tried writing a '400BT' chip with a '400' or '400BB' layout but think (hope Undecided) it'll be okay..
