I am new to these forums and this will be my second post.
Although I haven't been a member for long and haven't posted much, but I have been researching a lot, in my opinion.
My venture into this site and its information has been in the pursuit of tuning my own ECU file.
I own a 2000 Audi TT, non-quattro, 180 HP version.
Here is the information I have gathered, along with the steps taken to get there thus far.
I can say that this much was difficult for me, as I couldn't find any comprehensive procedure/steps.
I hope that this community can help me expand on this write-up for the benefit of new turners as well as
my own benefit, because at this point, I am stuck.

READING OF ECU

-EQUIPMENT-
-Galletto Cable, given to me by a dealer friend of mine
-Galletto Software Version 1260, download via .zip file http://www.resettools.com/galletto_ecu_flasher_1260
-Compatible Laptop and operating system (Fully Charged Laptop)

-PROCEDURE-
1)Plug cable into laptop, most modern operating systems will locate and install software automatically, which my computer did.
2)Brought cable and laptop to car.
3)Plugged cable into car, and then into OBDII port. NOTE: I DID NOT TURN ON MY IGNITION YET.
4)Ran Galletto software,
   Note: The software in the link above was run straight from the computer through opening the file in winrar.
   The file was NEWSERIAL.EXE in the winrar file.
5)Picked the proper MAKER, and DRIVER, in the Galletto software.
   MAKER-AUDI
   DRIVER-AUDI VW 1.8 TURBO ME 7.5.1 29F400BB *NOTE: THIS IS MY CAR SPECIFIC, NOT YOUR CAR!!
6)Next, under the CARS dialog box, I picked the selection: TT 1.8 TURBO 20V 180CV *NOTE: THIS IS MY CAR SPECIFIC, NOT YOUR CAR!!
7)Now I clicked the box labeled READ ECU. NOTE: NOW THE PROGRAM REQUIRE THE IGNITION TO BE TURNED OFF, AND THEN ON.
8)At the save as dialog box, I labeled STOCK.BIN, the .BIN will save the file in the bin format suitable for the tuner programs to read.
9)The program underwent the process, and the file was saved. Ignition was turned off.
10)I returned to my home, garage or apartment, basement, etc, no need to stay in your car.

OK, so I don't have a procedure yet becuase this is where i am stuck.
When I run WINOLS i can open my stock ecu .bin file from my Galletto Reader.
What I need to do now is define my maps so that i can tune the files accordingly.
My car's ECU is a narrow band defined by 29F400BT, and from what I have read in this forum there is not
much on tuning files for narrow band.
I intend to use popular, properly tuned files from this website, to build off of my stock ECU, a working
tuned file for the narrow band ecu in my '00 TT 180 HP.
I intended to use the Audi TT base definition provided by user TTQS, and try to cross reference my stock ecu map
I have heard talk of DAMOS for defined maps, but I am stuck on the information at this point.
Am I going in the right direction, and comments much appreciated.
