also, could someone confirm to me that what i'm looking at and poking with a stick is some of the CELS.

Checking on other files, there are large differences in this area, and the 00, 01 and 03's make at least some sense.

Edit: 0001a2f8 to 0001A312 seems like another good area.

The PROKON bits are the easiest of them all on the MKIV 1.8T.
You are in the right place.

Thanks for the confirm Gonzo,

I'll switch em off, check, and continue that till the rear heater CEL gets lost.

Yeah np. The failure class/endstufe DTC's are in a different place though. I'm very busy with this Audi/Passat file that I have no time to check but if you grab a 1.8T damos you should be able to find them easily.

AmIdYfReAk, because I like you:

This is for 032DL SW 360227 only. There is two (or more) versions of DL out there.

Thanks for that,

the DL that I'm working with is: 368009.

I'm still lost for this whole defining thing, i keep hearing that the damos can be "ported" over to most...

Meh, i guess I'll take another crack at Andy's site and see what i find.

AmIdYfReAk - Here's a really quick run-through to how I've been finding the maps I need on these ME7.5 1.8T ECUs:

* - Now that I'm looking further into it this might not work 100% for those error classes! You'll have to do lots of manual comparison & tweaking the offsets I think?? Might be slightly different with the DL? (I may have gotten lucky with the HN <-> HS matching) This should still be able to find the maps for you though.

  • Get the fully defined HN damos: http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php/topic,576.0title,.html
  • Open that ols in WinOLS then open the bin you're working on.
  • View - Connect Windows - Leave offset alone for now.
  • Use the HN file to identify the map(s) you want. Alt + click to jump in the hexdump.
  • Find the offset. Easiest way is to find a nearby 2D map and use the auto offset button
  • Select all the maps that you want that match with that offset and right click - transfer selected maps. Make sure it's set to not transfer values)
  • Rise & repeat

This shit is time-intensive. There's a better way to do this but I don't know it. (Maybe like how setzi's logger has ME7Info.exe which can identify the RAM variable locations in the different ECUs. Possible that the same idea could be used for the map locations?)

Example: In 06A906032DL 0261206890 360227 [I don't have your 368009] error classes (Fehlerklasse) start at 10710 (-85 offset from HN)

Sorry to resurrect and old thread, but has any headway been made with the DL definitions file? Ive been trying to crack this with the HN damos, and its not going exactly swimmingly for me.

I am working with the 360227 SW version.

It May be the beer talking, but its kicking my A$$ right now.
