Hello, can anyone help me with this question: Do you know if this file works for the 6 speed manual transmission Quattro version?
Thanks so much!!  Smiley

The flash .bin file does not really determine that compatibility. I would assume that the -AM file has the tables for 6-speed transmission since -AM is from later in the run of B6 flashfiles but otherwise most all of the 2003-2005 B6 files are cross-flashable to any of the 1.8T B6 ECUs though some early flash files might only support 5-speed. What does determine compatibility for FWD/AWD, manual/automatic, sales market USA/Euro, etc is the softcode that is stored in the ECU EEPROM. The softcoding will need to be adjusted if you are swapping to a different ECU that originally used a different drivetrain. Search for term "softcode" for prior discussion and instructions. The softcoding tells the ECU which of the table variants in the flash .bin to use but all the necessary tables should all be available there for any of the 2003-2005 B6 software versions.
Note that 2002 B6 uses entirely different (older slower) ECU hardware with narrow band lamda sensor, cannot be swapped into later B6.

This ECU can be coded to work with 5MT, 6MT or Multitronic Transmissions.
Front or Quattro with ABS/ESP coding possible.

False statement. The binary file contains complete information about possible configurations of the car!. This is a final statement.
You can skip all the theoretical chatter and not read this nonsense.
