Hi,

I've been trying to read the flash from my Allroad. I want to be able to disable the EGR and to have a go at remapping etc.

But I just cannot get the software to read... So far I have tried MPPS, Galleto and Nefmoto from here, using the correct hardware, ie. MPSS and Galletto dongles plus a generic FTDI dongle for Nefmoto.

I can hear the dashboard clicking and Nefmoto tries and tries to connect and succeeds eventually but I can never read the flash. It always fails, similar with MPPS and Galletto.

Can anyone please give me some ideas?

I've been using Windows XP, but am going to try the same PC with Windows 7 as its dual boot.

Thanks!!

Some 2000s (150hp) cannot be written as they have (2) OTP 29f010 plcc chips and must be desoldered/soldered. If it's a 155 or 180hp, it'll have a psop44 and can be read/written via OBD.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies.

Its a 180BHP version, the ECU number I think is 4Z7907401B.

I can see nefmoto negotiating and getting some info back, but it takes a while to connect then fails when I try and read flash.

I've not tried boot mode as I wanted to avoid removing the ECU, was hoping to try and work with ECU on car via OBD. Just can't see why its not working.

Nefmoto is ME7. No way it's going to read an edc.

MPPS should read/write it, but only if you select the correct ecu.

Ah thanks, I didn't realize it wasn't the correct ECU type....

I've tried MPPS and Galletto, but both fail to get a connection.

I will try and setup a bench with PSU and test lead etc....

I just found this in one of the VAG self study packs;
Audi A6 1998>
2000 (Y)
Allroad
AKE 2.5l TDI / 132 kW

Motronic ME7 injection and ignition system
4Z7907401
2.5l/4VTEDC G200SG I02
Coding 1018
Company number 02325

Seems to imply its an ME7?

I also need to do this on my Allroad. I could order MPPS to give it a go incase this is a problem related to your car. Did you find out anything else?
