Hey guys So I got my hands on a 85mm MaF housing that uses a bosch sensor it fits 2000-2002 a6 4.2 part number 077133471G.anyone running this maf on a B5 S4???I know the stock rs4 maf is only 83 mm.This one is 85mm.So would be plug and play for abox s4 cars.Question is with most tuners out there running hitachi mafs how to go about running this maf and getting it dialed in???

Is that all I need to run that particular maf on a stock s4??Also should I swap my sensor over or use the one that came with the housing??Anyone have spec sheets what each sensor could flow max wise??Definitely want to stick to a bosch sensor.

Look at MLHFM. That's airflow in kg/h for a given voltage. Feel free to convert it to g/s, but it's capable of nearly 600. As for what else you need, KFKHFM (if you're using that intake system, set it to all 1's if you're using some other setup, and dial it in from there), and MLOFS (set to 200 for bosch).

Do not use your s4 sensor! MLHFM is only good for THAT sensor in THAT housing.

Also, running anything but a stock MAF on a stock s4 is stupid. Stock can flow in excess of 300g/s, and I can assure you you won't get there with k03s.

Thanks for the help.I am gathering parts for my stage 3+ build.Looking at RS6 k24 hybrids.Just trying to piece a oem intake system together to use on the car.Im gonna assume the rs4 accordian hose will fit over this maf I hope I am not wrong.

MLHFM is 0.1 for kg/h or 0.0277778 for g/sec.

The uhfm_w axis doesn't really exist. It's a hex offset from the base. You can visualize it as 512 points starting at 0.00 - 4.99. The factor for uhfm_w is 0.00488281 so half that (16 bit) and you have 0.009766. Multiplying the row number by 0.009766 will give you an axis value.

EXCEPT for the 129 point MLHFM found in the newer 1.8t files.

But my main issue is the MAP itself, please can you check my map factor & offset???


Offset should be 200 due that I have a Bosch MAF, but why are the values so weird? I am using the original factor of the MapPack / Damos. Here is the map:

Thanks for your fast reply. I also made a mistake. I am working in a M383 MapPack then the MLHFM Map is 256x1.
Then following your tip, the X-axis factor should be 0,01953125 with offset 0. That using 1,2,3..... raw numeric data source.
And the MAP should be @ 16Bit with factor 0,1kg/hr and 200 kg/hr as offset (MLOFS) for a Bosch MAF.

My last question is, it is normal to have those weird values past 4.88V and negatives values up to 1.5V?Huh I read that Bosch MAFs can read back flow is this the reason of negative values?Huh

Yes. Also don't forget MLOFS, it means you can't just scale the Bosch MAF map percentage wise w/o a bit of extra arithmetic.

This is a 2000 S4?

No, the values in your spreadsheet are not normal.

No phila_dot is an Euro 1.8T AGU M383 similar to American 1.8T AEB M382 or M592.

Ok makes more sense, I assumed it was related to the OP.

I'm not familiar with pre-ME7, but those weird values you mentioned definitely look incorrect.

Does MLOFS exist in your image?
