I opened up my edc16 and unlike the me7 series the glue was hard. It does not seem like it will reseal as well as the me7 generation (that is a black gooey glue).
Do you guys add any sealant to the EDC16 when you put it back together?
If so, what?

Depends where ECU is mounted in the car.
If it is mounted in a waterbroof box and the glue is only there to prevent you from getting in (hello EDC17), then no.

If it is mounted somewhere where there is even a slight chance it will get contaminated by water, then definitely yes. Use normal sealant and don't use too much.
