Dump valve releasing too early on S3 8l BAM
« on: September 24, 2013, 12:45:15 PM »
Hi guys, i bought an S3 BAM and the condition was looking good. But the car pulls good until 6000rpm and then a dump valve releases when the car is still on full throttle. I dont get any errors after that.
When i was doing checks i realized that a turbo inlet horse has teared into peaces where it clamps on the turbo inlet. Will this be causing a problem as a MAF might be having a false reading due to air sucking after an airflow meter.
I have attached a map that i have downloaded using Genius. Please help me to analyze if a map looks original or tuned as this will help me to find a problem.
Your help will be appreciated.
Thank you.

The map is original.
The car is not supposed to have a dump valve, but a recycling bypass valve instead.
In case there is a dump valve installed, remove and replace it with a standard bypass valve.
And yes, atleast some of the issues are definitely caused by the teared TIP.

Before others tear you apart, fix any hardware problems before tuning.

I agree at home. However when out and about I prefer to leave the flushing for the next guy. Gives him a sense of accomplishment.
